Executive Chairman – Tim Allison
Online Gaming & Asia Specialist
Mr. Allison is a specialist in Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games and the Asian online game market. Mr. Allison has 22 years in the games industry as an executive. Seven of those years have been in online games. Mr. Allison’s MBA was attained at the prestigious Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney Australia, where he majored in Asian Business Development.
Mr. Allison founded Omake Interactive Services to specialize in business development services and consulting for Western online content developers and publishers wanting to expand across Asia and India. Omake has exclusively represented titles including Lord of the Rings online, Dungeons and Dragons online. Omake has executives based in China, Korea, Sydney and Japan. Clients have included significant United States-based online companies including Turbine, Trymedia and Asian majors including Citic and IAH. Omake has generated over $40 million in revenue channels for clients since 2003.
Most recently, Mr. Allison was the Vice President of International Sales for Interplay Entertainment Corporation. In this position, he was responsible for 12 markets across the Asia Pacific region. During his six years at Interplay, Mr. Allison was instrumental in establishing the long-term strategic importance of Asia for the gaming industry.
Mr. Allison became the first Western executive in the games industry to secure Joint Ventures in Asia, outside of Japan. He established development and distribution Joint Ventures in Korea and Taiwan, with the most notable achievement the facilitation of a JV relationship with Acer™ computers.
Much of Mr. Allison’s background was gained in distributions / retail representing major gaming labels and Australia and New Zealand. His experience also includes the position of National Marketing manager for Sega covering the highly successful MegaDrive and GameGear platforms, as well of the launch as well as the launch of Saturn and 32X.
Mr. Allison is one of a very small number of games executives to have extensive experience across all Asian markets, including India. His network of contacts is proven and his reputation as respect and across all levels of the industry.
Mr. Allison has an MBA from Macquarie University – Graduate School of Business and a B.Com, degree in Marketing, Economics and Accounting from Auckland University.
Steve Parker – Director
Mr. Parker is the Principal at Parker Management Pty. Ltd. Parker Management facilitated the bringing together of the WMS/Ebet distribution agreement. Parker Management has also facilitated some very high profile personnel placements in senior management and R&D roles. Mr. Parker also has some small equity positions in two software development companies.
Mr. Parker is the former General Manager of Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX: ALL) and has 25 years of experience as a marketing and gaming executive. Aristocrat operates as a developer, manufacturer and distributor of gaming machines and systems in Australia, New Zealand, the Americas, Japan/Asia Pacific, South Africa and Europe. ALL is the largest gaming machine company in Australia and a premium supplier to the international gaming industry.
Mr. Parker was educated at Victoria University of Wellington in English Education, and Kuranui College.
Paul Barnes – Board Advisor
Paul Barnes has been involved in online gambling in several jurisdictions since the first emergence of the industry. His experience includes online gaming technology, regulatory compliance as well as the operation of casino, poker and instant games in regulated and international markets
Mr. Escalante has been an executive designer and producer in the games industry since 2004, specializing in distributed, cost effective, globalized teams. He has had over 10 years in the Australian Financial Planning industry as a technical specialist. His specialties are game production, game design, financial planning, investment strategies & analysis. He founded and was Managing Director at White Knight Games from 2004 to 2008, a developer of computer games for the Christian market.
Mr. Escalante was a founding partner of Anino Mobile, now part of the Anino Games Group, the Philippine’s largest and most successful game development studio.
Mr. Escalante has run and managed international game development teams since 2004, specializing in cost-effective international development in the Philippines and India. Anino Games has shipped numerous Ninento DS, Wii, iPhone, and PC games projects, at a world-class level of quality and on highly competitive development budgets.
He studied Actuarial Studies and commerce at Macquarie University, and has been a technical specialist in the Australian Financial Planning industry for over 10 years. He brings years of development management and design expertise to bring the vision of Virtual Gaming Worlds to life.
Mr. Escalante has six years of executive experience in games development and production, with ten years financial planning experience. Mr. Escalante is a specialist in Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games, the Asian online game market and global game production practices.
Mr. Leonard is a partner of Gilbert + Tobin, a premier Australian law firm with around 230 lawyers based in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Mr. Leonard is a partner in Gilbert + Tobin’s Corporate, Communications and Technology group, focusing on commercial and corporate transactions for corporations in the technology and communications sectors.
Mr. Leonard’s experience includes media and technology acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, telecommunications infrastructure and communications services arrangements, structuring and negotiation of licensing arrangements, outsourcing and systems integration arrangements, content platform and licensing contracts. Mr. Leonard publishes frequently in his fields of practice. He is a contributing editor of a number of international journals and is co-editor of Communications Law and Policy in Australia.
He is active in a number of national and international organizations in the field. He is a past Chair of the Technology Committee of the International Bar Association and a past Vice-Chair of the IBA’s Communications Committee. Peter also serves on the Law Council of Australia’s Media and Communications Committee, the Internet Industry Association’s Taskforces on Cybercrime, Mobile Content and VoIP, and the New Zealand Law Society’s eCommerce Committee. Peter was also a member of the Australian Attorney-General’s Expert Group on Electronic Commerce, which issued the report leading to the Australian Electronic Transactions Act. He is also an active member of a number of committees of the American Bar Association.
He is recognized as a leading technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) lawyer by Asia Pacific Legal 500 and Chambers Global. He was named in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Best Lawyers list for telecommunications and was also recommended in the 2009 PLC Cross-border Media & Communications Handbook. Peter is also listed as one of the leading lawyers in the International Who’s Who of Internet & e-Commerce Lawyers in 2010.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws and a Masters of Laws from the University of Sydney.
